Call for Applications- Credit Seeking ASIM Scholarship

Announcement   Africa Sustainability Infrastructure Mobility   March 6, 2025

About the ASIM Call

Africa Sustainability Infrastructure Mobility (ASIM) is the consortium of four (4) Universities (Ardhi University, Covenant University, University of Johannesburg, Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences – MUBAS) and an EU Technical partner (Leeds Beckett University) under the European Union Commission Grant on Intra-Africa Academic Mobility Scheme Call Reference No. EACEA/07/2020. Opportunities exist in the third round for suitable qualified, and highly motivated applicants from Africa to apply to study at any of the following institutions: UNIVERSITY OF JOHANNESBURG (South Africa), MUBAS (Malawi), ARDHI UNIVERSITY (Tanzania) and COVENANT UNIVERSITY (Nigeria).

Credit seeking is a short-term mobility leading to the recognition by the home university of the study period spent at the host university: i.e. the educational components taken abroad by the student are recognised upon return as integrated part of the degree programme at the home institution (either the credits awarded by the host institution are recognised and transcribed by the home institution or the home institution recognises the learning outcomes achieved by the student as compatible for the award of the home degree).

The ASIM Project Supervisory Board (PSB) now invites applications from eligible academics for the Africa Sustainable Infrastructure Mobility (ASIM) Credit Mobility. The ASIM credit seeking mobility programme focuses on capacity development and short-term mobility flows of 6 months. The call is based on the urgent need to increase the talent pool of expertise in infrastructure and to develop the capacity of African Higher Education Institution (HEI) to deliver sustainable infrastructure education. The Intra-Africa Academic Mobility Scheme supports higher education cooperation between countries in Africa and aims to promote sustainable development by increasing the availability of trained and qualified high-level professional manpower in Africa.

The Intra-Africa Academic Mobility Scheme is set up under the Pan-African Programme (Development Cooperation Instrument) with the primary objective of improving the skills and competencies of students and staff through enhanced mobility between African countries.
